What do i do if i forgot HP laptop password?
The laptop is pretty old but it does work. in havent used the laptop in years and i forget the password. i dont have that reset disk thing either, please help

I got answers as below:

If you don't have access to the administrator account, and you did not create a password reset disk, then you may have to call Microsoft.

While, fortunately, I opted for its suggestion - create a password reset disk:

Create a HP password reset disk as the detailed six steps:
Step 1. Logon a pc that you can download something. Download Windows Password Recovery Tool Professional, install it with several clicks and then run it.
Step 2. Burn a Windows 7 password reset disk with a blank CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive. A USB Flash Drive will be better if the locked Win 7 pc with the driver.
Step 3. Connect the burned Win 7 password reset disk with the locked Win 7 computer, Press DELETE, F1, F2, F10, F12 or Alt+S (choose one or combined key that screen may display a sentence while computer starts), then set bios to boot pc from USB Flash Drive, restart pc and there will load software program.
Step 4. Choose the user account that you need reset the unknown logon password, click "reset" button to begin password reset.
Step 5. A message box will pop up, just click "Yes", then the login password will be reset a new one.
Step 6. Shift out this Windows 7 password reset disk, restart PC with logon password problem. Now you will successfully logon Windows 7 without password.

Also, there are several free utility CDs that incorporate an option to hack password. These include Hiren’s Boot CD (HBCD), Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) and Ultimate Boot CD for Windows (UBCD4WIN).

If you don't have burning software installed on the working computer, download and install Ashampoo Burning Studio 6. It's free, and I recommend it...I use it myself.
Start up Ashampoo and select Create/Burn Disc Images...then select Burn a CD/DVD/Blu-ray Disc from a Disc Image.
Burn the CD or DVD, and use it to boot your problem computer. You may need to enter your BIOS (Setup), and change the boot sequence to boot from CD first, but this isn't always necessary.
Once you’ve booted your problem computer with the UBCD, scroll down and click on “Parted Magic”, then scroll down again and click on “Alternate graphical server”. Allow it to load up, then click on the circular Parted Magic symbol in the bottom left-hand-corner of your screen.
Select “System Tools”, then click on “PCLoginNow”. Click the Next button, then highlight the system you wish to log in to. If you have multiple operating systems installed they will all be listed, so be careful to select the correct one.
Click the Next button. Now highlight the user. If you have multiple accounts installed they will all be listed, so be careful to select the correct one.
Place a tick in the box labeled “password is empty”. Click the Next button, and if asked “Reset successfully! Do you want to reset another USER?”, click the No button.
Once again, click on the circular Parted Magic symbol in the bottom left-hand-corner of your screen and select “Logout”, then select “Reboot the computer” and click the OK button.
CHKDSK will be activated. Allow this to complete and if all is well, you’ll continue to boot to your desktop.

To try system restore may result in data lose, a HP password reset disk will make sure reset password easily and safely!
