2004 VS1400GLP Instrument panel

I have a 2004 Intruder VS1400GLP. The instrument panel cluster, where the turn signal indicators are, has a smoked cover rather than clear. This was a mistake by Suzuki. In bright sunlight I can't see the indicator lights, especially the turn signals at all. The cover should have been clear. How does it come off, and are there different replacements for this or has anyone made their own?
