Hey folks, got myself into a pickle. Have an 86 intruder the original motor was in need of a rebuild and with internals being very elusive on the new market I opted to change out the motor with a slightly newer one with low miles. Everything is the same except the stator/generator so I put the 86 genny on the 89 motor. It runs but with the idle screw at the lowest setting it idles way high, back fires huge fireballs and stalls at the slightest load and sometimes on its own.. any input on where to start exercising the deamons would be hugely appreciated! I'm looking into finding someone to set the carbs for me but if that doesn't fix it, I may have to make 1 motor from 2.
