DR350 needs spokes. Not sure about next step.

DR350 needs spokes. Not sure about next step.
I bought a 1997 DR350SE this week.
The seller was evasive or ignorant not sure, but there are ten spokes missing in the front wheel. every other one is gone. So is my only option to pay $45 for a whole set of 30 something ?
Had a bunch of bikes, but this is a new problem for me.
