Default Cabin Heater only working on Passenger side?

I seem to have a heater that is only working on the Passengers side, not the Drivers side of the cabin?
It doesn't matter where the air is directed, screen only, footwells only, dashboard vents only, or any combination; with the heater turned up the air on the left/passenger side is Hot but the air on the right/Drivers side remains Cold.
Does anyone know about the cabin heating arrangements please?

For anyone that might be interested, I had this fixed by the local garage today. It turned out to be a partially blocked heater matrix inside the dashboard heating system.
This is a job I would NEVER do myself. The WHOLE dashboard and centre console has to come out, along with the steering wheel, and the aircon system emptied and disconnected.
They cut up the heater matrix and it was possible to see tiny deposits of what looked like pale blue coloured scale, similar to what you'll find in a kettle in hard water areas, blocking the tiny channels.
They said they'd never seen anything similar before. This is going to cost me a lot, (4 days labour plus the Heater Matrix £240 from the main dealer) and a hire car, but I can't see any way I could have done it myself, or cheaper.
