Default Recirculated Air

Looking for advice on my 07 Grand Vitara. My recirulated air button flashes randomly and causes my defrost to stop working. I took it to the dealership and they cant find anything wrong. It seems to happen when my car is cold and after messing with the external vs recirculated air flow for awhile it will stop. It seems to be getting worse because when my defrost stops blowing and all air is coming out of the vent I have to shut off the car and turn it back on to get defrost. Any thoughts? Has anyone experienced this? Help would be greatly appreciated!

Default RE: Recirculated Air

I don't know that the GV is this way, but my old Ford Aerostar used to do that, and I finally traced it down to a bad vacuum line in the heat / air / defrost switching thing behind the dash. The only thing that ever worked was to turn the engine off and wait1 minute. It was a cracked fittingat one of the hoses coming off the switch assembly, and I thought I would lose my sanity looking for the thing. Good luck, and let us know what you find.
