I was wondering the core difference in the three.

Base frame I will be building is a 96' RMX250T

donors: 95' RMX250s, 89 RMX250K.

Parts should basically be the same, just wondering the difference.

Looks like you got a good head start on your build...well a good amount to start with at least.

There were very subtle changes to the RMX throughout the years, here in the US anyway. I do know they made street legal models in other countries. I believe the biggest changes came during the final few years, like 96-98. If I'm not mistaken, the older bikes had standard style forks then they switched to the inverted. There were also some engine related changes in the later years as well. Thankfully A LOT of parts interchange.

I definitely recommend putting an 89 RM 250 head gasket on instead of the RMX when the time comes to do your top end. The thinner RM gasket will increase the compression ratio and give you a bit more power.

As it sits today just about done, aside from the top end and a few other odds and ends. Just waiting to get the cylinder back from being re-plated at millenium technologies
