I have a grinding sound coming from the gear area when in 1st or neutral. Not sure what it is any help on what to do

 

Hey everyone,
just bought 2014 C50T @5K miles (would you believe?), and grinding sound comes from rear end on the left, presumably from final drive.
And yes, on 1st it's heard best, then either disappears or gets unheard due to road noises. Anyways it doesn't get louder, and as the machine warms up the sound goes away.
I checked level (was ok) and later replaced oil in the final drive, no effect in terms of grinding sound.

The plan is to remove FD and the shaft drive, hope I won't see
