Hey folks, hopefully some activity can be generated on this new thread.
Not new to motorcycles, but just bought a 2006 S40 (cheap). It's been sitting for 5 years but looks to be in good shape. Owner is now a Mom of 2, just quit riding.

I'm scoping out project needs with a RYCA RR-1 Hardtail kit. ANYBODY out there with experience on this? All discussions would be helpful. Not planning on cracking the case, as I don't think it will be necessary, but certainly a complete tune and some minor adjustments are planned.

Here are some first questions:

1. Cost overruns?
2. Aftermarket parts in addition to the RYCA Kit?
3. Recommendations on tires (not from RYCA Kit)?
4. Any additional frame modifications?
