Ordered a new rear cable (‘12 is drum brakes) for my S40 as the old one was getting rusty (I know I know it should be lubed but I bought it recently). Go to change it and the damn cable seems to be practically locked in on two points of the bike. On the foot pedal mount (see picture) after loosening the locking washers the thing won’t come out of the bracket do to the slot being too small. There’s a similar mount on the swingarm. BTW the washer won’t screw off onto the thin part of the cable due to a nipple on the end so that’s not an option. Anybody have any suggestions or experience with this?
Between the two washers, these guys are supposed to lock it into the mount but if you look on the opening of the mount it’s simoly not big enough to realease the cable.
