Crud on exhaust pipes

Default Crud on exhaust pipes

I made the mistake of wiping my exhaust pipes with a towel before they were cool enough. I now have residue or 'crud' on one of them. What is the best way to remove this crud? My bike is a 2007 S50.

just use a steel brush much better if it is also hot.
it will be much easier to remove.
