Default 1979 BS 34 carb issues

Good evening everyone I'm having some issues with my carbs. They are running rich and I've tried everything I can think of to fix them. Plugs are carbon fouled so I have stock jet needle in very top clip position pilot jet is 20 main jet is 110 and I've tried both setting floats to very minimum to very maximum. Idle screw is turned as far down as possible so it almost stalls and the "air screw" on both carbs is set at 1/2 turn out. Both carbs have pod filters. Valves have been Re-shimmed and in perfect spec. There are no exhaust leaks and vacuum is very strong. When I take carbs apart and blow air in the slides both work perfectly so the diaphragm is not pinched. Compression is 142 and 143.

I've tried 108 main jets and it seems to run better with the 110's in there. I have a set of 115 main as well. Very strong gas smell coming from carbs and exhaust. The carbs making a hissing puffing noise as well when throttle is opened up more than 1/8 turn. There are times when I get the bike running perfect and can ride it but then I put it in the garage for a few hours or a day and then it's right back to bike not even running on idle. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated because I feel like I've taken it apart 50 times or more and like I said I finally get it running perfect and then the next day I start it up and it won't even idle

Please help
