Default Shaft-drive Boulevard towing

I'm hoping to learn if anyone knows about the adviseability of towing a shaft-drive 2008 Boulevard S83 using one of the cradle-type of trailer hitch assemblies. It's the one that cradles the front wheel only about a foot off of the road to a trailer hitch and the rear wheel simply follows along engaged with the road surface. Concerns are 1) If the bike is in neutral, can this shaft-drive be towed in this manner without any damage; and 2) Should I use some sort of clutch-bar strap?
