Suzuki intruder 800
[align=left]I have a 1994 Suzuki intruder 800. I have been having an electrical problem. When I go to start the bike as soon as i hit the starter there is a clicking noise coming from the ignition system area and all power just shuts off completely. I have already replaced the ignition system and am still having the same problem. I can literally shake the bike and the power will switch on. The guys at the shop said it could be the solonoid which has been on there since i bought it. I ordered a new one and am going to try replacing it and seeing what happens.
Does anyone have any input on what they think it could be and if the solonoid could be the problem. Any input would be a help. This problem has been reaccuring and has been very frustrating. Thanks.

RE: Suzuki intruder 800
Yeah that is what i was thinking too. Someone told me to try the solenoid, its only like $53 so i'll give it a try. I'm hoping thats it because if its just a short somewhere i might have to dump some dollars into having them check over lots of connections.
Anyone have any ideas what areas of wiring would be good to check first? This bike has been having this problem on and off for a while and has been a lot of frustration. I would hate to give up on a bike that runs well just because of a wiring problem. I guess i'll have to spring for the work if its not the solenoid. I wish i knew more myself but if i start taking her apart i probably wouldn't be able to put her together. This bike is my only transportation, which has always been fun but its a real hassle right now.
Thanks for your input, any helps. Peace.

I had the same problem with my '97 and what it finaly came down to was the pos and neg battery cables had been rubbed by the rear airbox and the coating on the wires was gone. Since the coating was gone they corroded to the point that they were no longer carrying power. So what I did was take of the air box and rewire with 8g stranded wire from the neg terminal to the motor and then the same with the positive, ran to where it needed to go.
Super cheap fix. Hope it helps.
