Default Bike won't start

I just got a 2008 C50 a couple of weeks ago and already have a problem. The first day I had it, after riding for about 50 minutes I turned it off for a couple of minutes, then tried to turn it on but the electrics shut off completely; and it wouldn't start. After a few more minutes the electrics came on and it started. This occurred again the same day.

I mentioned the issue to a mechanic at a nearby garage and he thought it may be the solenoid. He can't look at it until next month.

Yesterday after riding for an hour (last 30 minutes with a passenger) I turned it off, then a few minutes later when I turned the key to "on", the power came on but I got the Check oil / temperature warning, and the engine wouldn't start (wouldn't turn or anything). Same problem this morning even though it now wasn't hot.

I can't find anything about this save for one video on you tube where a mechanic mentions that some of the older models occasionally had an issue where the bike when still hot having been ridden wouldn't start and they found one of the pistons would be stuck in the top position with "some sort of vapor lock".

Anyone familiar with this problem and is there something I can do about it?
