Default Transmission Problems!

Hey,

I'm new to the site. I have a 2008 C50T, only have about 3300 miles on it. I've been noticing lately that crusing at 40-60 mph and try to accelerate without downshifting,I feel like my transmission is slipping. The RPM's momentarily go high and then the bike feels like it catches onto a gear after a few seconds. I just did another oil and filter change this past weekend as well as the final gearoil. Problem still occurs....I was just going to take it to the dealer to have them look at it but thoughtI would try here first.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

This is the first bike I've owned that is shaft driven. I just want to clarify that the engine oil is also the lubricant for the tranny/clutch? and the final gear oil is just for the rear diff.?

Thanks

the rear diff has its own kind of oil, separate from engine/tranny. I do believe the engine/tranny do share the same oil tho. What kind of oil are you using? and is it energy conserving oil, which is not recomended. Right now I'm using gtx 10w 40, but i think im gonna switch to oil made for bikes, for the transmissions sake....

Premium 4 High Performance Oil 10w-40 Motorcycle specific oil. Little more expensive than the run of the mill stuff. But I figure in the long run it's worth it. I heard of possibly adjusting my free play in the clutch to potentially fix the problem. Next day that I get where there isn't ice on the ground or precip. coming out of the sky I will get my bike out of its personal garage and try a few things.

Thanks! I'll let you know how things turn out.

Finally was able to get the bike out this morning.... dry roads. Cold as heck riding to work but dry none the less. The simple clutch freeplay adjustment fixed the problem. Glad it wasn't something more severe. Thanks for all the help!
