Default 2006 Forenza Drain Plug and Oil Filter

Can anyone tell me where the oil drain plug and oil filter are located? How difficult/ messy is it to change the oil and filter?

Default RE: 2006 Forenza Drain Plug and Oil Filter

I think it's the same as the 2005 model, which is easy if you remove the plastic splash guard. I usually drive up on a piece of 2 x 12 because my ramps won't clear the bumper. Turn the wheel to the right, take off ac ouple of bolts that hold the splash cover and let it drop out of the way. Then you can see the drain plug and filter clearly. Be sure to put the piece of 2 x 12 under both front wheels or the car will be unlevel and the oil won't drain completely. I use an ordinary catch pan and keep a rag handy to pick up any spill.
