I have a 1979 suzuki GS 550L, when I try to cold start it, manuel choke all the way up, it starts and will run for a while, but when I try to reduce the choke, it dies . Put the choke to half , and with a little starting fluid in the air box it starts, warms up, good to go. cold start with half choke, have to use starting fluid then it warms up and good to go. What the heck ?
I hate to go out inthe morn to go to work and fiddle with it for half an hour to get it to start, I love to ride !!!!
HELP !!!
Have had the carbs boiled and cleaned, changed the plugs, checked the points and gap, all seem good .

 

So no one has any helpful hints ?
