1999 GS500 no-crank no-start
Hi everyone. For the past couple of weeks, I've been fiddling with the electrics on my bike. I think I'm getting close to the problem part, so let me guide you through what's happening:
• only the oil pressure light and neutral light light up on the instrument cluster.
• headlight, tail/brake light, turn signals, horn, start button do not work
• occasionally, bike will suddenly start working, then stop just as quickly (happened twice now)
• battery is good, starter is virgin
• fuses all intact
I'm 80% positive that the ignition controller has been fried. I can infer this by the motorcycle not changing its behavior when I remove the part. Only issue, is I can't find one that's not bloody expensive, and I can't afford a new one with Christmas and buying a new house. How can I confirm its the ignition controller? Also, if I can't fix it by January, it'll have to be pushed the mile and a half to the new house.
